What Is A DTS? E-mail
reflections.jpgOur DTS last six months. They begin with a twelve week training period know as “lecture phase” in which staff and visiting speakers teach on such topics as evangelism, world missions, spiritual warfare, Bible study, prayer, worship, Biblical counseling, relationships, and Christian identity and perspectives. Students attend lecture seminars, are involved in studies, small groups, local outreaches, community service projects, sports and recreational activities, share in work responsibilities and receive personal discipleship and counseling. During your time on Maui you will stay in houses and share a room with other students. We have a cafeteria where meals are served and a lecture hall where we worship and lectures are held.

The second part of the program is a twelve-week field assignment known as “outreach”. Staff and students are divided into small teams and travel overseas, usually to third world locations in Asia the South Pacific, and beyond - to such places like the remote island villages of the Pacific, refugee camps in Nepal, or the slums of Calcutta. You will be putting into practice what you have learned, doing hands-on missions work which may include street evangelism, “open air” crusades, counseling, music, performing arts, children’ ministries, first aid/medical assistance, teaching, construction, and church/community service projects. Outreach destinations are not finalized until after the school is in progress.
