Fall 2010 SBFM Update
The arrival of sixteen students from North America, Asia and Europe marked the opening of the Fall 2010 quarter of the School of Biblical Foundations here at YWAM-Maui. Even from the buzzing conversations at the welcome night barbeque it became apparent that the quarter would be an exciting one- full of discussions, growth, new experiences, fun and friendships.

Day one, class one swung into session as the students took on the first of the half dozen books they would read in the following three months; diverse titles ranging from J.I. Packerʼs Knowing God to Norman Geislerʼs When Skeptics Ask. Within days, speakers plunged the group into the study of topics such as Biblical Worldview, Apologetics, and Cross-cultural Communication. Despite this full schedule of lectures and homework, the class continually found time to unwind at the beach, eat spam musubi and explore the island.
By December everyone was looking back at three months of challenging study, in hindsight recognizing outstanding personal growth and the establishment of Biblical foundations in their lives as never before. It was rewarding to see a pile of books, once stiff and new, all dog-eared and highlighted... and a group of passionate young people dispersing back across the globe with hearts compelled to articulate Godʼs truth with their lives, and see reformation in the lives and societies around them.
SBFM was just the beginning for them...
