Surfers Discipleship Training School (DTS)
Our Surfers DTS is a 6 month school designed to disciple surfers to follow God, and equip and release them to impact the world. The school is split into two phases: Lecture Phase and Outreach Phase.
During Lecture Phase the focus will be on re-channeling misdirected passion; becoming solidly grounded in Christian faith; and discovering your identity, gifts and calling in Christ Jesus. Lecture Phase will be based on the north shore of Maui, with access to epic surf spots including Ho’okipa, Honolua Bay and Ma’alaea.
After Lecture Phase, you will enter the Outreach Phase which is a mission trip to an Asian country (and world class surfing destination) such as the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka. During Outreach Phase you will get a taste of world missions; gain ministry experience, and reach out to the global surfing community.
The next Surfers DTS starts in January 2011.
SFMI Boomerang
The SFMI Boomerang is a mission trip for any surfers who have completed a YWAM DTS. The goal of Boomerang is to refuel your stoke, build contacts and ministry opportunities, and promote SFMI around the world. Boomerangs consist of 2 - 3 weeks of training and team building on the beautiful north shore of Maui, and then 1 or 2 months on a mission trip to destinations including the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka.
